A BOSU Ball is an inflated rubber hemisphere attached to a solid plastic surface. It looks like half of a stability ball attached to a flat bottom on its opposite side. The term BOSU is derived as an acronym for “Both Sides Up”, as the unit can be used on either its rounded ball side, or on its flat side. Training on an unstable surface leads to increased neuromuscular activity when compared with standing on a stable surface.
The BOSU Ball Balance Trainer allows the ability to increase the difficulty of an exercise by creating a decrease in stability. Because of its unique shape, the BOSU Ball can be used in a wide range of exercises to train balance, stability, and strength.
