Personal training is another industry that has benefited from the internet revolution. Some of the most established personal trainers I know had quite a tough time recruiting clients when they first started because their marketing reach was so small. Fitness professionals are no longer restricted to a single neighborhood or geographic boundaries, thanks to the internet and the plethora of web and mobile apps available today.
Personal training and fitness apps have made it possible for almost everyone to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. While AI-powered apps that track your workouts and provide recommendations are good to have, there’s nothing like having an experienced personal trainer to guide you. So this My PT Hub personal training software review will show you exactly what to look for in a personal training software.
My PT Hub Personal Training Software
My PT Hub is a web and mobile-based platform for Personal Training. It allows Personal Trainers and gym owners a convenient and user-friendly method to connect with clients from anywhere in the world and manage their nutrition plans, workouts, and much more. It works for both online and offline personal training.
Fitii Ltd., the maker of My PT Hub is based in Burgess Hill, UK. Since its initial launch in 2015, My PT Hub has amassed over 80,000 fitness professionals and 2.3 million clients. These are some of the highlights of its latest iteration – version 3:
- Direct Chat with your clients
- Unlimited Nutrition plans
- Unlimited Training plans
- Access from anywhere at anytime
- Access via the web, iOS, and Android
As mentioned earlier, all the AI-powered apps in the world may not be able to compete with the prowess and experience of a real, live personal trainer. This My PT Hub personal training software review explains exactly how Fitii bridges this gap.
My PT Hub covers the entire gamut of personal training activities such as face-to-face, remote, boot camps, and gyms

Features And Benefits
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is nothing new, there are many companies that provide platforms for all types of services, and personal training is no exception. But what is unique about My PT Hub is that it allows newbie and professional personal trainers alike to build their client base without a lot of their branding getting in the way. They even let you serve your clients with a mobile app with your own branding.
I set up my account all on my own, and it was quite straight forward. There are just a few simple steps like entering the details of your business, a logo, your color theme, and a few details about yourself.
That’s it. You’ll then be taken to the dashboard of My PT Hub. Depending on when you sign up, you will be offered their primary dashboard or their new and improved version 3 dashboard. Once you’re registered, My PT Hub offers an onboarding call as well as a comprehensive knowledge base to get you familiar with the platform. As a result, setting up your account on My PT Hub is much simpler than doing so on many of its competitors.
One of the main benefits is that you don’t need to make a financial commitment at the onset. My PT Hub gives you a 30-day trial to try out all its features. I’ll be talking about pricing in detail later in this article.

In terms of features, My PT Hub ticks all the usual boxes that you would expect. You’ll be able to set up and manage everything you need for your personal training business – clients, nutrition plans, workout programs, packages for your clients, and much more. In addition, there are also some industry firsts like direct chat with your clients, uploading files related to your programs and workouts, and managing your calendar bookings. Being able to try everything out for a month makes it really easy to decide whether My PT Hub is right for you.
One of my favorite things about My PT Hub is that it allows me, and more importantly, my clients, to see how popular my workout plans are among my clients. Selling to clients is so much easier when they know how popular your workout plans are.
My PT Hub is even more fun when your clients start working out. It has HD videos of almost all of the workout types and exercises (7,500+) that you can imagine and allows custom exercises if you want even more. It even has a stopwatch feature if you have My PT Hub on your mobile phone.
If you own a Fitbit device, your My PT Hub workout experience will be even better. It has a deep integration with many Fitbit features such as step counting, calorie counting, and Fitbit goals.
As a personal trainer, some of my highest paying clients expect me to meet them in-person at least once a week. That’s a considerable amount of traveling and being away from my laptop, but that’s no longer a problem for me because I can manage my clients, keep in touch with them through direct chat, and do much more right on my phone.
My PT Hub provides you with a good balance between managing your business on the web and on your phone (both Android and iOS). This is usually not the case with many other apps that are more geared toward mobile devices. The benefit here is that, if you have a lot of clients and data, it will be easier to manage them via the web.
One thing that My PT Hub does really well, in my opinion, is automating most of your client interactions. Once you set up your workout programs, the apps take care of walking your clients through them. You can monitor their activity through their “Recent Activity Feeds”. You can also create a questionnaire through the app if you want to collect more data about your clients.
I love generating new business, but managing accounts, finances, and billing aren’t my favorite topics. Frankly, I just don’t have the time to worry about them too much either. Many of the other apps I’ve tried previously didn’t have any payment integrations. Thankfully, My PT Hub takes care of all of that. It offers a seamless experience right from setting up packages to receiving payments from your clients, and it’s backed with one of the best online payment services – Stripe.
What Clients Say About My PT Hub
I looked at many reviews of personal trainer apps before selecting one. Capterra, is one of the biggest online reviewing sites and has over 2,000 reviews of My PT Hub. It has an overall rating of 4.6/5, but what I observed is that the ratings have continued to improve through the years. My PT Hubs has a rating of 4.2/5 on both the Android Play Store and Apple App Store with 200+ and 100+ reviews, respectively.
One of the main pain points that most of the older reviewers mentioned is that the app had a considerable amount of bugs. Thankfully, I haven’t encountered so many of them and the developers of My PT Hub have undertaken to resolve any issues speedily.
This review was found on Capterra, and I thought to share it because I can relate to so many comments in it, except for the high number of software glitches. This issue seems to have improved with time.
To Buy Or Not To Buy
Here’s a little tip from not only a personal trainer but also someone in touch with the modern trends of personal fitness. Most clients want to lead a healthy lifestyle, but they also want to show off to their friends and colleagues that they do.
So even though there are many other apps that can do almost the same things, I picked My PT Hub as it allows you to maintain a great social presence and also be in touch with your clients. This gives them that extra bit of confidence and incentive to workout. More workouts mean more money.
My PT Hub has great reviews across both web and mobile platforms, offers quite a lot of great features, has personalized branding experiences, and most of all is free for your clients. But there’s more, pricing plans start at just $20 a month with considerable limits, and you can upgrade directly from your app if you are pleased with the trial.
The premium pricing plan offers unlimited clients and services, better compliance tracking, and events for just $49 a month. With a sizable client base, the premium plan is an excellent investment with continuous ROI. The feature comparison is as follows:
Standard Plan | Premium Plan
Pricing | $20/month | $49/month |
Number of Clients | 5 | Unlimited |
Workouts | 50 | Unlimited |
Nutrition Plans | 50 | Unlimited |
Program Compliance | No | Yes |
Document Storage | 1GB | 10GB |
Classes, Bootcamps & Events | No | Yes |
Additional Trainers | $5 per trainer | $3 per trainer |
Custom Subdomain | — Available on both plans —
My PT Hub is great if you’re starting out your personal trainer career. It gives you a lot of features at a fraction of the cost of other services. Even if you are experienced and already have an established client base, setting up your business on My PT Hub can be helpful to help you to expand your personal training business.
